Tessa Smith

Tēnā koe. My name is Tessa, and I am in my first year of a BSc at the University of Canterbury, majoring in Astronomy with a minor in Chinese. I attended Columba College in Dunedin, where I completed NCEA Levels 1, 2, and 3 with Excellence endorsement. I achieved first place in Calculus, Digital Technologies, Physics, and Classics, was awarded Proxime Accessit, and received NZQA Scholarship in Classics and English in Year 12.

In 2024, I was longlisted for the Girdlers’ Scholarship and selected to interview for Mathematics with Physics at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.

I am passionate about study and education and love helping others reach their full potential. In my spare time, I enjoy a variety of creative and outdoor activities, including mountain biking, baking, crochet, painting, poetry, and hiking.

I can tutor English, Calculus, Digital Technologies, Physics, and Classical Studies up to Level 3, as well as Chinese to Level 1. I look forward to working with students and supporting them in achieving their goals!
