Martin Jin

Hello! My name is Martin, and I’m currently a first-year engineering student at the University of Auckland. I attended Hutt Valley High School, where I ranked top 5 academically and participated in the volunteer tutoring program. I achieved scholarships in chemistry and physics, an A+ in a 100-level math paper (MATH199 from UC), and was awarded the top achievers scholarship from the University of Auckland. In addition, I also have many personal commitments such as reading, piano, chess, exercising, badminton, muay thai, and learning Japanese.

I find it rewarding when I’m able to guide a student through a confusing topic and help them avoid the frustration of spending hours trying to understand a single concept, which I personally can relate to. This is why, as a tutor, I try to relate to the student’s difficulties and to see things from the student’s point of view; I try to explain things in an engaging and unique way, inorder to deliver an enjoyable lesson that makes things easier to understand. I offer tutoring in NCEA physics, chemistry, and calculus all up to level 3.

My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment with an emphasis on personalized learning and engagement. I aim to motivate and assist the student in reaching their academic success.
