Jaylen Asekona

I'm Jaylen-Rose Asekona, a 22-year-old student currently pursuing a Bachelor of Nursing at Otago Polytechnic. As an aspiring nurse, I am deeply passionate about healthcare and helping others, and I am committed to making a positive impact on people's lives through my nursing practice. Throughout my time at Baradene, I consistently achieved excellence endorsement in NCEA Level 1 and merit endorsement in NCEA Levels 2 and 3. These academic achievements have instilled in me a strong work ethic, discipline, and a dedication to continuous learning.

During my final year at Baradene, I was honored to serve as a House Leader, a role that allowed me to lead and teach students from various age groups, ranging from years 7 to 13. This invaluable experience provided me with the opportunity to develop my leadership and mentoring skills, and it reaffirmed my passion for education and empowering others to achieve their full potential. In addition to my academic pursuits, I had the privilege of being named Captain for our premier netball team at Baradene College.

Now, as a second-year nursing student at Otago Polytechnic, I am eager to share my knowledge, expertise, and passion for learning with others through tutoring. I believe in creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment that fosters confidence and academic growth. Whether it's helping with subjects related to nursing or other areas of study, I am committed to assisting students in reaching their educational goals and maximising their potential.
